Muir of Ord Community Fridge and Larder

Set up by MOO Food, the Community Fridge and Larder was one of the  first of the sharing sheds that are now popping up all over the Black Isle and beyond. Located beside the Muir Hub, food currently accepted (within use by date):

  • Vegetables and fruit (including home grown)
  • Bread, cakes, crisps, snacks etc.
  • Sandwiches / food from meetings
  • Tins / jars
  • Takeaway food from businesses

MOO Food also run Grow Boxes and a Community Orchard.

To help other organisations set up a community fridge, MOO Food have created a booklet that explains how they did it, from insurance, partnership working and volunteers to connecting to local businesses.
